YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Designing control systems for industrial applications and making changes to existing systems as needed.
- Generating technical documentation to support design activities and documenting work plans and work performed.
- Designing software systems for industrial applications and making changes to existing systems as needed, documenting software designs on relevant platforms.
- Producing automation programming for PLC, HMI, Historian, VFD, PC, and other automation systems that may be required.
- Developing code for database solutions and other information technology platforms.
- Performing FAT testing in the office or at client sites to a documented test plan.
- Conducting commissioning services at client sites as needed per the commissioning schedule which will require work to be completed after hours, on weekends, and on statutory holidays from time to time.
- Communicating effectively with clients regarding project progress in a professional manner.
- Managing time allocations for tasks efficiently, meeting deadlines for tasks as needed, and providing feedback to project managers.
- Providing time estimates to management for work that will be performed.
- Entering work hours and comments into the timesheet program every week within deadlines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 to 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- 3 to 10 years’ experience in PLC programming preferred.
- A solid understanding of networking and Switches will be an asset.
- Rockwell, FTView, and HMI experience.
- Schedule flexibility with the ability to work night shifts or on-call.
- Strong technical documentation writing skills.
- Experience working on medium and large-scale projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
COMPENSATION: $80k-110k base + additional compensation from on-call schedule and overtime
