YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Designing control systems for industrial applications and changes to existing systems as needed.
- Producing technical documentation to support design activities and document work plans and work performed.
- Designing software systems for industrial applications and changes to existing systems.
- Documenting software designs on a suitable platform.
- Creating automation programming for PLC, HMI, Historian, VFD, PC, and other automation systems that may be required.
- Creating code for database solutions and other information technology platforms.
- Performing FAT testing in the office or at client site to a documented test plan.
- Performing commissioning services at the client site as needed as per the commissioning schedule which will require work to be completed after hours, on weekends, and on statutory holidays from time to time.
- Communicating effectively with the client about project progress in a professional manner.
- Traveling to client sites in other cities to perform work as required.
- Managing time allocations for tasks efficiently to meet deadlines and giving feedback to project managers.
- Providing time estimates to management for work that will be performed.
- Entering work hours and comments into the timesheet program every week within deadlines.
- Assisting customers with daily operations and troubleshooting system issues when equipment is not running or experiencing difficulties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in maintaining control systems for industrial applications.
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Expertise in programming PLCs (Allen Bradley), HMIs, VFDs, Historian, PCs, and related automation systems, specifically ControlLogix, Studio 5000, and Wonderware or Ignition HMI.
- Experience with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical for creating and modifying design drawings will be an asset, but not essential.
- A solid understanding of networking and Switches will be an asset.
- Strong technical documentation writing skills.
- Experience working on medium and large-scale projects.
- Travel to client sites in other cities to perform work as required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Enter work hours and comments into the timesheet program every week, on time, as per management deadlines.
COMPENSATION: $80,000.00 – $110,000.00
