YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Assuming a leadership role in the development and mentoring of new CAD Technicians and Technologists within the department.
- Serving as a primary resource for CAD-related inquiries.
- Creating engineering base plans using survey data, GIS information, and record drawings.
- Generating reference plans based on consultant documents.
- Preparing production drawings, including cover sheets, notes, key plans, roadworks, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, cross sections, erosion and sediment control plans, pavement marking and signage plans, design details, and more.
- Employing Civil 3D labels, label styles, and production tools to enhance presentations.
- Managing large drawing sets and title blocks through the use of Sheet Set Manager.
- Executing drafting tasks in alignment with client, municipal, and internal design standards.
- Completing redlines and revisions to plans.
- Collaborating with Project Managers and design teams to provide updates, address challenges, and implement necessary modifications.
- Producing civil drawings and details from initial concept to final design, including complex projects such as rail, transit, and linear infrastructure.
- Maintaining open communication with project team members and contributing to the advancement of Civil/Transportation Details and BIM Standards.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 year of CAD certification from a college or technical school, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- 10+ years of CAD design, drafting, and modeling experience..
- Strong leadership skills.
- High proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Commitment to producing consistent, high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to accurately interpret redlines and directions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven track record in site grading, site servicing, drainage, and access road design using Civil 3D software, as well as preparing all plans, sections, profiles, and detailed drawings.
- Notable experience with the corridor and pipe network modules in Civil 3D.
- Extensive experience in 3D model development, including design completion, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, annotating, and drafting.
- Superior attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Infraworks is an asset.
COMPENSATION: $80k – $100k, annually.
