This position will work alongside management and mechanics in the shop to create documentation of drilling related equipment designs and schematics, product manuals, and processes.  This role will also provide daily engineering support to Welders, Mechanical Assemblers, and Hydraulic Assembly Technicians.

  • Designing industry leading machinery using Solidworks software;
  • Creating drafting schematics with AutoCAD;
  • Finding cost savings through efficient design and manufacturing;
  • Utilizing our new 1st class ERP system for tasks such as entering and maintaining parts and BOMs;
  • Creating procedures and Parts Manuals; and
  • Documenting and assisting in resolving product and process issues in collaboration with management, Technicians, Mechanics, Assemblers, etc. 


  • Minimum 2 years equipment design engineering experience;
  • Intermediate-level or higher skills in Solidworks and AutoCAD;
  • Engineering Technology Diploma or Engineering Degree;
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis FEA will be an asset;
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic and/or electrical design, and mechanical and hydraulic product assembly;
  • Experience in product manufacturing environments with manufacturing processes and procedures;
  • Attention to detail and a high regard for product quality;
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and challenges;
  • Good mechanical aptitude; and
  • Respect for understanding and following all safety rules and requirements.
