THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a Global Director of Engineering to join an amazing organization that provides comprehensive engineering, design, manufacturing, and service solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs in the biopharmaceutical manufacturing industry.

In this role, you will report to the COO and oversee product strategy, development, and production across multiple facilities. This position is hands-on and ideal for an emerging manager. You will be tasked with remote supervision of Manufacturing Engineers in the US and abroad and equipment design at corporate headquarters. Other responsibilities include leading Mechanical and Electrical Engineers in designing process equipment systems and guiding Manufacturing Engineers on assembly methods, bills of materials, and lean/CI projects.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Leading the design and engineering teams within the organization worldwide.
  • Developing and implementing business plans aligned with company goals and strategic vision to reduce operational costs.
  • Regularly monitoring performance metrics, financial forecasts, and other indicators to evaluate operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensuring department objectives and project completion within budget and time frame.
  • Defining and achieving aggressive KPIs for quality, performance, delivery, and cost for all products.
  • Motivating staff and providing technical direction, guidance, and hands-on project management, serving as both manager and mentor.
  • Optimizing operational efficiencies across manufacturing sites.
  • Researching, developing, and implementing policies to improve efficiencies, reduce costs, and meet client expectations.
  • Promoting a safe work environment in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures in daily operations.
  • Adhering to operating budgets and ensuring on-time completion of customer orders.
  • Maintaining 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Continuously improving lead-time and cost reduction.
  • Traveling internationally and domestically to company facilities, vendors, customers, and other locations as required (estimated 20% travel).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business (MSEE preferred).
  • 10+ years of manufacturing or engineering management experience in pharma, life sciences, or capital equipment industries, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Lean Six Sigma or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in deploying and managing ISO-compliant processes and organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentation and influencing abilities.
  • Strong skills in relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem-solving, and change management.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Proven ability to develop strategic and collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders at all levels.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Industry experience with 3D parametric CAD software.
  • Prior experience with Autodesk Inventor and/or Routed Systems.
  • Prior experience with Autodesk AutoCAD 2D/3D.
  • Experience with ERP software, preferably Syteline.
  • Familiarity with ASME/BPE Bioprocessing Equipment standards.

COMPENSATION:

  • $150k – 160k, plus 15 – 20% bonus.
