We are seeking an Intermediate Automation Engineer/Technologist to join the team of one of North America’s premier Automation and Control Systems Integrators.

In this role, you will undertake control system design and programming for an organization that offers a challenging and dynamic environment. Your work will be guided by client parameters, needs, and expectations, ensuring compliance with current electrical codes and requirements.


  • Designing control systems for industrial applications and making changes to existing systems as needed.
  • Generating technical documentation to support design activities and document work plans/work performed.
  • Designing software systems for industrial applications and making changes to existing systems as needed.
  • Documenting software designs on a suitable platform.
  • Creating automation programming for PLC, HMI, Historian, VFD, PC, and other automation systems that may be required.
  • Producing code for database solutions and other IT platforms.
  • Performing FAT testing in the office or at the client site as per a documented test plan.
  • Performing commissioning services at the client site as needed as per the commissioning schedule,  occasionally requiring work to be completed after hours, on weekends, and on statutory holidays.
  • Communicating effectively with the client about project progress in a manner that aligns with the project goals and the organization’s best interests.
  • Travelling to client sites in other cities to perform work as required.
  • Managing time allocations for tasks effectively, meeting deadlines for tasks as needed, and giving feedback to project managers.
  • Providing time estimates to management for work that will be performed.


  • Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering, Diploma in Automation, or equivalent certification from a technical institute or recognized post-secondary institution.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Membership with EGBC as a P.Eng. is preferred.

COMPENSATION: $90k -$110k, annually.
