Arbutus Search Group is seeking a Manager, Decision Support to join our client’s excellent management team. This role will focus on integrating robust financial governance into all business decisions and involves collaborating with the Project Management Office to support the overall corporate budgeting and reforecasting process for projects. The Manager will provide financial support and oversight to Project Managers responsible for project budgets and work across the organization to promote the department’s financial consulting expertise in all business areas, including operational efficiencies, business opportunities, accounting implications, and option evaluation.


  • Partnering with finance departments and various project managers to support the organizational budget, forecasting processes, and government and financial reporting related to projects.
  • Working closely with business units to develop and assess strategic initiatives.
  • Planning finance activities for projects, including updates for business planning, performance management, and the implementation of business unit initiatives.
  • Overseeing financial aspects to support regular project forecast updates.
  • Identifying financial risks and opportunities within the project portfolio.
  • Researching, developing, and implementing best practices using enhanced tools and templates, while promoting a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Developing and identifying new or improved key performance indicators for project reporting within business units.
  • Building and maintaining strong working relationships between finance areas, business units, service partners, and regulatory and government bodies.
  • Providing strong people management to drive cultural change that continually adds value to the organization.
  • Creating a positive and supportive work environment that fosters an engaged workforce aligned with the organization’s vision, mission, and values.


  • A university degree (ex. B.Comm, BBA, MBA) 
  • An accredited professional accounting designation.
  • 6+ years of current progressive experience in financial performance management.
  • Proven management experience in a fast-paced high-growth business environment.
  • Knowledge of the principles, concepts, standards, and practices in:
    • Financial forecasting
    • Financial analysis
    • Financial performance measurement
    • Financial modelling
    • Corporate planning and budgeting
    • Project management, including those related to the financial management of projects
    • Change and risk management
  • Understanding of division and corporate business functions, strategies, goals, and objectives.
  • High level of business acumen.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical thinking, and innovation skills.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.


  • $104 – 160k, based on experience, with an amazing benefits package rarely seen now in the private sector.
