As a Structural Engineer, you will contribute excellent structural design & analysis, 3D modeling, drafting, and preparation of specifications while liaising with clients and contractors throughout the process for industrial projects using steel, concrete, masonry, and light gauge metal construction.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, proposals, and construction cost estimates for a wide variety of new construction and retrofit applications.
  • Completing modeling and analysis of structures and foundations using RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, RISA Connection, and Hilti Profis.
  • Overseeing the development of design drawings, collaborating with the drafting/design team in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Preparing specifications for civil and structural trades for projects.
  • Coordinating with the client and contractor through the construction process, including shop drawing review & approval, RFIs, and inspections & site visits.
  • Designing equipment support structures for process equipment.
  • Designing foundations for pre-engineered metal buildings, large equipment, radial cranes, and sub-steel structures.
  • Designing masonry and light-framed construction office buildings and MCC rooms.
  • Leading teams including design coordinator and drafting personnel on large projects. 
  • Collaborating with architects, designers, and building contractors on the design and construction of projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • NCEES Licensed Professional Engineer – Civil/Structural.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, or similar structural design software.
  • Required Knowledge of IBC, ASCE-7, AISC 360, ACI 318 etc.
  • Familiarity with all conventional shallow and deep foundation systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Available for intermittent overnight travel.
