EIC Engineer Lead, P.Eng
THE OPPORTUNITY:
We’re hiring a Lead EIC Engineer, P.Eng to join one of North America’s premier Automation and Control Systems Integrators, based in Delta, BC. This full-time, permanent position offers the chance to lead the design process for components in the Toronto Ontario Line, a $10.9 billion transformative transit system.
In this role, you’ll oversee the technical execution of EIC systems — focusing on intrusion detection sensors, cabling, and field installation drawings. You’ll review design documents and ensure all installations meet safety and client requirements. This is a hybrid position based in Delta, with minimal travel and no immediate site or commissioning responsibilities for a few years.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Lead design oversight for EIC systems related to intrusion sensors, cabling, and field installations (industrial, infrastructure, or rail).
- Review and provide feedback on design documents using sketches, markups, or coordination with drafters and designers.
- Prepare technical documentation such as work plans, system descriptions, and compliance materials.
- Ensure designs are constructible, properly connected, and meet client requirements and safety standards.
- Interface with clients regarding design deliverables and project updates.
- Participate in project planning, estimating effort, and managing timelines.
- Travel as required (~10%), supporting project sites in Western Canada and beyond
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in BC or Ontario (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in electrical/controls engineering, instrumentation, or industrial automation
- Familiarity with sensors, cabling, field installation, and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Familiarity with power distribution systems up to 4160V (208V and lower also beneficial)
- Strong leadership, project execution, and communication skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites (within Canada)
- Experience in rail or 3D lidar technology (plus)
- MCC and VFD exposure (plus)
- Experience with SIL-rated systems, safety design, and commissioning (plus)
SALARY RANGE: $110k-$130k base + bonus.
