YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Perform structural analysis and design for municipal, residential, commercial, and industrial projects, including both new builds and existing structures
- Conducting structural inspections across 20–30 sites in the Edmonton area during the first six months, requiring travel of 1–4 hours (including winter driving conditions) with a valid driver’s license.
- Complete structural calculations and assist in preparing/editing technical specifications
- Review engineering designs for compliance with codes, standards, and specifications
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and drawings
- Coordinate designs with multiple disciplines (Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
- Provide structural support during construction, attend site meetings, and carry out field reviews
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams
- Support senior staff with project coordination, reporting, and design activities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered as a P.Eng. or as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT).
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and works well in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
COMPENSATION:
- $60,000 – 80,000, annually.
