Junior Mechanical Technologist or Drafter (Commercial / Multi-Family Residential)

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are looking for a Junior Mechanical Technologist to join a growing, multidisciplinary engineering team in Abbotsford, BC. This is a great opportunity for an experienced drafter who is passionate about mechanical systems in residential, commercial, and light industrial projects. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

• Prepare drawings for building-related mechanical systems, including HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection
• Work independently on assigned scopes with minimal supervision
• Produce contract drawings, schematics, schedules, details, and sketches from conceptual design through to construction
• Draft and design in Revit MEP and AutoCAD
• Coordinate mechanical systems with other engineering disciplines
• Conduct field surveys, site reviews, and prepare record drawings
• Ensure design standards and project deliverables meet quality expectations
• Collaborate with project managers, discipline leads, and other team members to meet project deadlines

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
• Experience in mechanical HVAC, and plumbing drawing production
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; some Revit experience required
• Working knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, heating, and cooling systems
• Ability to read architectural, structural, electrical, and civil drawings
• Familiarity with NFPA, NECB, ASHRAE standards, and local building codes (asset)
• Knowledge of LEED requirements and energy modeling software (asset)
• Ability to attend building sites with minimal supervision

COMPENSATION: $60,000 – $70,000 annually
