THE OPPORTUNITY:
Our client, a well-established and growing organization in the forest products sector, is seeking a Specialties Sales Representative to drive market growth and product demand across their lumber specialty portfolio. This is a strategic, outward-facing role focused on increasing market share, enhancing margins, and identifying new product opportunities. Working cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and product development teams, this position plays a key role in shaping future sales strategy and strengthening overall customer value.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Developing pull-through demand for specialty lumber products across key markets.
- Targeting and engaging supply chain decision-makers to generate new business and expand existing accounts.
- Increasing sales revenue and margin by strengthening product positioning and market presence.
- Identifying emerging market trends and shifts that are influencing sales, marketing, and product development strategies.
- Collaborating with internal teams to communicate insights and recommend strategic adjustments.
- Analyzing opportunities for new specialty products aligned with overall business objectives.
- Developing and executing specialty sales and marketing plans.
- Partnering with operations, woodlands, and marketing teams to bring new products to market.
- Working closely with third-party remanufacturing partners to understand production capabilities, costs, and quality standards.
- Interfacing with cross-functional stakeholders including sales, logistics, product development, and mill operations.
- Supporting innovation initiatives and contributing to ongoing product development and commercialization efforts.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer value and business performance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience in sales, preferably within the forest products.
- Post-secondary education in a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the forest industry and lumber specialty products/markets.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence key decision-makers.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and interruptions.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset with sound decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and product teams is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
COMPENSATION:
- $95,000 to $125,000 CAD/year
