YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Managing and delivering municipal and Indigenous community infrastructure planning, design, and construction projects.
  • Leading and contributing to multidisciplinary project teams across a diverse range of engineering and planning assignments.
  • Supervising junior staff involved in the delivery of infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients.
  • Supporting business development activities and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Preparing proposals for both competitive and sole-source project opportunities.
  • Developing community engagement materials and facilitating project workshops and consultations.
  • Preparing detailed design calculations and collaborating with CAD team members on drawing development.
  • Writing technical reports for community planning studies, infrastructure assessments, and design documentation.
  • Developing detailed design drawings and technical specifications.
  • Preparing construction tender and bid documents.
  • Administering construction contracts (familiarity with CCDC and MMCD is considered an asset).
  • Overseeing construction inspections, including quality control and quality assurance activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in an engineering role.
  • Consulting experience is required (land development and subdivision design experience is considered an asset).
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia or eligible for immediate registration.
  • Positive, motivated, and collaborative professional approach.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Familiarity with Indigenous Services Canada funding processes is considered an asset.
  • Indigenous Cultural Safety Training and demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, develop new skills, and grow within the role.
  • Valid driver’s licence in good standing is required.
  • Ability to perform fieldwork, including operating equipment, travelling to remote locations by vehicle, boat, air, or foot, and conducting outdoor site visits in varying weather and terrain conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to communities for extended periods to support client meetings, fieldwork, and limited construction field reviews.

COMPENSATION:

  • $122,000 – $143,000 per year
