THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client, a leading industrial manufacturing operation, is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Electrician to join their maintenance team in Live Oak, Florida. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing electrical and automation systems that support continuous production operations.

Working in a modern manufacturing environment, you will diagnose equipment issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support system upgrades while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This position offers the opportunity to work with advanced industrial technologies, including PLCs, variable frequency drives, sensors, motors, and automated control systems.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial electrical and electronic systems and machinery.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues involving PLCs, sensors, relays, and automated control systems.
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical drawings, and E-Plan documentation.
  • Performing preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Responding to equipment failures and production interruptions to quickly identify and resolve root causes.
  • Supporting equipment commissioning, system upgrades, and new equipment installations.
  • Conducting routine inspections of machinery and electrical systems to identify potential issues.
  • Documenting maintenance activities, repairs, and recommended improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and applicable NEC regulations.
  • Collaborating with operations personnel, maintenance teams, contractors, and vendors to support plant initiatives and capital projects.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial controls, motor controls, drives, electrical distribution systems, and automation equipment.
  • Experience working with PLC platforms, including troubleshooting and basic programming, Siemens experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in panel wiring, conduit installation, drives, and control system maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and technical documentation, including European-style drawings and E-Plan schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Degree, diploma, or certification in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Experience in automated manufacturing, wood products, timber processing, or other industrial production environments is considered an asset.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to perform physical duties typical of an industrial environment, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, working near operating machinery, and working at heights and in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.

COMPENSATION:

  • $25 – $29 USD/hour based on experience
