THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are partnering with an innovative company transforming how low-carbon buildings are designed, engineered, and delivered through a digital platform already used on real mass timber projects across the United States. They are seeking a Project Designer to take hands-on ownership of project execution, someone technically strong, fast-moving, and motivated to grow into more senior responsibility. In this role, you will directly influence design, coordination, cost, and fabrication outcomes while working in a high-trust environment supported by experienced designers, engineers, and product leaders.

PERKS:

  • Comprehensive Health and Dental coverage
  • Quarterly bonus
  • Hands-on experience delivering complex building projects from design through execution
  • Direct mentorship from world-class designers and engineers
  • Accelerated growth toward senior technical and leadership roles
  • Opportunity to shape next-generation design-to-manufacturing tools and workflows

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Leading the day-to-day execution of mass timber design work.
  • Developing coordinated 3D models and design deliverables suitable for pricing, coordination, and manufacturing.
  • Supporting projects through Concept Design to Construction Documentation phases, with appropriate guidance as needed.
  • Reviewing and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, proactively identifying gaps, conflicts, and coordination issues early in the process.
  • Coordinating directly with internal team members and external project partners on assigned work.
  • Taking ownership of the quality and accuracy of deliverables prior to senior team review.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in design, drafting, BIM modelling, or related roles.
  • Proven experience working on Conceptual Design through to Construction Documentation (CD) phases on real-world projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit and strong 3D modelling skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work directly from architectural and structural construction documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply structural or mass timber systems with appropriate guidance.
  • Strong understanding of, or curiosity toward, structural engineering concepts with a willingness to deepen technical knowledge.
  • Ability to independently take assigned tasks from definition through to completion with minimal oversight.
  • Strong attention to detail, consistently producing accurate, well-documented, and high-quality work.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and priorities.
  • Basic project coordination skills, including tracking tasks, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical contexts.
  • Strong ownership mindset with accountability for quality and deliverables prior to review.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while continuously learning and applying feedback.
  • Motivated by problem-solving, impact, and continuous improvement, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.

NICE-TO-HAVES:

  • Exposure to mass timber design or construction.
  • Experience with Dynamo.
  • Proficiency in Rhino and Grasshopper.
  • Architectural or engineering licensure.

COMPENSATION:

  • $105,000 USD/year
