YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Performing EIC engineering and design for both greenfield and existing industrial applications.
  • Utilizing standard engineering tools and software to validate electrical systems.
  • Preparing and updating design drawings using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Developing electrical schematics in compliance with UL508A and CEC standards, including panel layouts, bills of materials (BOMs), and complete drawing sets from company templates.
  • Translating I/O spreadsheets into I/O drawings for both digital and analog systems.
  • Designing AC and DC circuits, wiring diagrams, wire numbering, fusing, and grounding according to specifications.
  • Interpreting technical specifications, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements, and providing recommendations for procedural improvements as needed.
  • Collaborating with electrical fabrication shops and providing technical guidance.
  • Inspecting electrical components during and after installation, and performing FAT testing both in-house and at client sites.
  • Presenting technical information clearly and responding to questions from internal teams and clients.
  • Managing assigned projects, prioritizing tasks, monitoring progress, and providing time estimates and updates.
  • Providing on-site supervision and commissioning services as required, including occasional after-hours, weekend, or holiday work.
  • Supporting the Sales team during bidding and quotation processes by providing technical input.
  • Communicating effectively with clients regarding project progress to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Accurately recording work hours and project notes in the timesheet system by weekly deadlines.
  • Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT), with active progress toward a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation and membership in good standing with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia.
  • 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience in EIC design, industrial automation, or related fields.
  • Experience designing or working with industrial control panels.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical preferred) and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Exposure to PLC programming and/or industrial wiring is considered a strong asset.

COMPENSATION: $90k-$110k base.
