Senior Civil-Municipal Engineer

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Leading the planning, design, and construction of municipal infrastructure projects, including sewer, drainage, and water pump stations.
- Serving as the Engineer-of-Record or Technical Lead on major municipal and regional utility projects.
- Overseeing all phases of project delivery, from feasibility studies and conceptual planning to detailed design and construction administration.
- Supervising and mentoring junior and intermediate engineers to support their technical development and project ownership.
- Preparing, reviewing, and signing technical reports, detailed design drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Collaborating with CAD and field teams to ensure construction aligns with design intent.
- Managing construction phases, including tenders, contracts, quality control/assurance, safety oversight, and environmental compliance.
- Leading and supporting proposal development and participating in client-facing business development initiatives.
- Coordinating multi-disciplinary projects with clients including municipalities, regional districts, First Nations, and institutional or industrial organizations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Canada with at least 15 years of experience.
- Positive, motivated, and client-focused personality.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Previous experience in municipal and water infrastructure design, along with project management and coordination.
- Ability to understand both big-picture concepts and detailed technical aspects.
- Interest in building infrastructure.
- Consulting engineering experience or interest in pursuing a consulting career in municipal design and various project delivery methods.
- Strong report writing, organizational, and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Physically able to conduct field visits, operate equipment, and travel to remote sites by vehicle, boat, air, or on foot, including outdoor work in all weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
COMPENSATION: $150,000 – $200,000
