THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our client, a respected leader in the forest products industry, is seeking an experienced professional to support the growth of their industrial business segment. This role is focused on developing key markets, strengthening customer and partner relationships, and translating market intelligence into coordinated commercial and operational action. Working cross-functionally across sales, marketing, product development, and operations, this position plays a critical role in driving market expansion, operational alignment, and long-term customer value.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Driving market demand and pull-through for branded products by aligning value propositions with customer and channel needs.
  • Engaging and influencing key supply chain decision-makers to secure new accounts and grow revenue and margin.
  • Managing and expanding assigned accounts, preparing them for transition to inside sales where appropriate.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to share market intelligence and recommend actions impacting sales and product strategy.
  • Building, managing, and optimizing third-party remanufacturing partnerships to support supply reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensuring all activities are being conducted in compliance with safety standards and policies.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners, and key industry stakeholders.
  • Acting as a trusted liaison between customers, partners, and internal teams to deliver solutions and resolve issues.
  • Working closely with internal teams across sales, marketing, logistics, and operations to ensure aligned execution.
  • Supporting the development and rollout of sales and marketing materials that reinforce brand positioning.
  • Conducting market research, including customer needs, product trends, and competitive activity.
  • Translating market insights into clear, actionable recommendations for business improvement.
  • Monitoring competitor performance and recommending data-driven strategic responses.
  • Identifying and developing new business opportunities by defining market needs and aligning internal resources.
  • Supporting the development of new products and market strategies that drive profitable growth.
  • Coordinating and overseeing third-party partners to ensure cost, quality, and service expectations are met.
  • Maintaining consistent follow-up and issue resolution to support operational performance.
  • Traveling extensively to support customer engagement, partner management, and market development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally within the wood products manufacturing sector.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Forestry, Wood Science, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of wood products manufacturing, markets, and supply chains.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across complex supply chains.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced, interruption-driven environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach with strong decision-making capability.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively as required.

COMPENSATION:

  • $95,000 to $125,000 CAD/year
