THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are partnering with an innovative and fast-growing organization seeking a senior-level Program & Portfolio Management professional to help strengthen program delivery, governance, forecasting, and investment oversight across a complex portfolio of initiatives. This is a highly visible, hands-on role suited to someone with a strong consulting or strategic program management background who thrives in ambiguous, multi-stakeholder environments and enjoys building structure, improving processes, and driving operational excellence while remaining adaptable and solutions-focused as priorities evolve.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Program Operations & Delivery Leadership
- Driving improvements to operational program delivery practices, including workflow standards, reporting structures, tracking methodologies, and operational rhythms.
- Guiding teams in applying scalable and effective approaches to scheduling, budgeting, risk mitigation, and execution management.
- Delivering consolidated oversight across multiple initiatives, with visibility into progress, constraints, interdependencies, and key performance indicators.
- Streamlining operational processes by identifying inefficiencies and introducing practical enhancements to delivery models.
- Strategic Portfolio Oversight
- Coordinating and overseeing a diverse portfolio of initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational strategy, partner commitments, and funding objectives.
- Supporting initiatives through the full lifecycle, from evaluation and prioritization through implementation, monitoring, and completion.
- Enabling collaboration across programs and teams to strengthen consistency in governance, reporting standards, and execution practices.
- Financial Planning & Operational Analysis
- Managing portfolio forecasting activities, including resource planning, financial projections, expenditure tracking, and scenario analysis.
- Creating and maintaining analytical tools, dashboards, and reporting models to support decision-making and operational transparency.
- Monitoring financial and operational trends, identifying risks or variances, and presenting actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Governance & Risk Management
- Designing and refining operational frameworks, procedures, controls, and governance practices to support effective program execution.
- Ensuring compliance with organizational standards, contractual obligations, and funding requirements.
- Anticipating and managing risks, issues, and cross-functional dependencies while supporting timely escalation and resolution processes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Organizational Enablement
- Working closely with internal leaders, external partners, and public-sector stakeholders to align priorities and support successful outcomes.
- Coordinating governance discussions, working sessions, and leadership reviews to support informed decision-making and accountability.
- Assisting with organizational change initiatives by communicating impacts, expectations, and implementation requirements effectively.
- Process Optimization & Capability Building
- Evaluating current operational models and recommending improvements to systems, governance approaches, and delivery methodologies.
- Applying a strategic and analytical mindset to solve complex operational challenges while remaining adaptable in fast-changing environments.
- Supporting the evolution and long-term enhancement of enterprise-wide program and portfolio management capabilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years of experience in areas such as program delivery, operational strategy, consulting, portfolio management, or similar roles within complex, cross-functional organizations.
- Strong background supporting governance frameworks, enterprise risk practices, stakeholder collaboration, and organizational transformation initiatives.
- Advanced capabilities in budgeting, forecasting, and operational analysis, including high-level proficiency with Excel-based financial models, reporting tools, and scenario planning.
- Exposure to industries such as public sector, infrastructure, innovation, energy, industrial operations, or resource-based sectors is considered advantageous.
- Demonstrated success establishing processes, improving operational structure, and navigating dynamic or evolving business environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a highly organized and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information into practical recommendations and business insights.
- Comfortable engaging with executive leadership, external partners, and multidisciplinary teams across varying levels of an organization.
- Capable of balancing disciplined execution with flexibility and adaptability based on business needs and changing priorities.
- Innovative and solutions-oriented mindset, with the curiosity and creativity to address unique operational and strategic challenges.
COMPENSATION:
- $92,000 – $125,000/year
