THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are conducting a search on behalf of a well-established and rapidly growing manufacturer of agricultural equipment headquartered in Mission, BC. Our client designs and builds high-quality equipment used by customers around the world and is recognized for its strong focus on engineering excellence, innovation, and product quality.
They are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their engineering team, with a primary focus on new product development and the advancement of next-generation equipment solutions.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:
- Leading the design and development of new product solutions, with a focus on agricultural and mobile equipment applications.
- Applying strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify design challenges and implement effective, performance-driven solutions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle to support project timelines and quality objectives.
- Conducting in-depth research and technical evaluations to assess design feasibility, performance requirements, and cost efficiency.
- Developing detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and validation or test plans, to support manufacturing readiness.
- Configuring product designs to meet sales order requirements and generating accurate drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Reviewing and processing engineering changes in accordance with formal change management practices (ECRs, ECOs, ECNs).
- Contributing to the development, maintenance, and improvement of internal design standards, guidelines, and engineering procedures.
- Performing peer reviews of CAD models, engineering drawings, and BOMs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Providing technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers to support skill development and design quality.
- Continuously learning and staying current with industry trends, tools, and technologies to enhance design practices and processes.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Proven experience in new product development within heavy industrial environments.
- Professional designation such as P.Eng or ASCT is preferred.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing complex engineered products.
- Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools, ideally SolidWorks and Autodesk platforms such as Inventor and Vault (training will be provided as needed).
- Demonstrated strength in problem-solving, with solid spatial and three-dimensional visualization skills.
- Clear and effective communication skills across multiple organizational levels, including customers, sales teams, and procurement.
- Experience presenting and explaining design concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
- Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of GD&T standards and weld specification requirements.
- Practical experience applying Finite Element Analysis (FEA) in a design environment.
COMPENSATION:
- $100,000-$130,000/year
